JAMES MOSES
Route 130, Mercerville, New Jersey 1991. I last saw James in September 1992.
He was walking from farm to farm searching for work. He carried a bag
of vegetables that someone had given him. James was a heavy drinker until
he had a stroke. In 1991 he was homeless. Ironically, as a boy his childhood
and now lifelong friends nicknamed him "Sparky." They say, "he had spark
then."

SUN DRESS
South Florida, 1996. Elisa Turner wrote for the ARTREVIEW, Miami Herald
..."Myatt's shot of a woman clad in a simple white cotton shift radiates a
quiet dignity. In this work, SUNDRESS, he gives us a sidelong look
at a woman's torso. We don't see her face, but we do get a glimpse of the
determined uplift of her chin, as well as her square shoulders and strong,
lined neck. Sturdy grace takes the place of youthful sparkle here. Myatt
draws our attention to a woman who has not only aged but prevailed, looking
luminous in South Florida summer whites."
